Climate:

Due to the diverse terrain that can be found throughout Colombia, the climate can vary considerably by region. Colombia is located near the equator, and its coasts as well as northern lowland areas have a tropical climate. Average temperatures can range from 75–81° F, with a long rainy season occurring from May until October. As you go up in elevation (3,500-6,500 ft), you will reach Colombia's temperate zone, where temperatures have a year-round average of 64° F. A further increase in altitude (6,500-10,000 ft) will bring you to Colombia's "Cold Country", which is characterized by a mild climate. The capital city of Bogota lies within this region and has an average temperature is 57° F, with consistent heavy rains occurring between April and June, and October and December.

Electricity:

Electricity in Colombia is 110 Volts, alternating at 60 cycles per second. If you travel to Colombia with a device that does not accept 110 Volts at 60 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Outlets in Colombia generally accept a flat blade plug or two parallel flat pins with ground pin. If your plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
