Climate:

The climate in Paraguay differs because part a portion of the country is in the tropical zone but most of Paraguay has a temperate climate. The two main seasons are winter which is May to August, and summer, which is from October to May. The winter has temperatures between 60 and 70° F, with cooler temperatures at night. Paraguay’s summer temperatures are usually anywhere from 77 to 100° F, and even reach as high as 109° F or hotter in the western area of the country. Summer storms are not uncommon. Rain amounts are lowest in the west, at 30 inches and increase towards the eastern border with Brazil, at around 60 inches. Paraguay can also have large, quick, drops in temperature due to humid wind coming from the north and cold, dry wind coming from the south.

Calling Internationally:

To call Paraguay from the United States, dial the international prefix, 011; then Paraguay’s country code, 595; and then the two or three digit area code, then dial the actual phone number.

Electricity:

Electricity in Paraguay is 220, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Paraguay with a device that does not accept 220 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Outlets in Paraguay generally accept a Type C, two-pin unearthed plug. If your plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
