Climate:

Uruguay has average temperatures ranging from 59° F in the coldest month of June to 77° F in the warmest month of January. It has a temperate climate, with 120 to 180 sunny days a year and an average of 41 inches of rainfall. Average rain is higher in the northern region at an average of 50 inches.

Calling Internationally:

To call Uruguay from the United States, dial the international prefix, 011; then Uruguay’s country code, 598; and then dial the actual phone number.

Electricity:

Electricity in Uruguay is 220, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Uruguay with a device that does not accept 220 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Outlets in Uruguay generally accept: Type C, two-pin unearthed plug; Type I, two flat blade with one flat grounded blade plug; Type F, two-pin with two earth clips plug; or a Type L plug - two round pins with one round grounding pin in between. If your plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
